“I value and appreciate the culture of others through the provision of art, crafts, food, and music, and I look forward to positively helping enable our region, the nation, and our inter-global community doing what I love at Flavours of Life!"
LaKisha Lee, Flavours of Life
It's always been about passion
In 2004, the foundation for Flavours of Life was conceived over a long weekend of defining passions:
- Justice; respect; dignity; fairness; sustainability
- Valuing diversity; equality; cultural differences
- Travel; adventurous sights, smells, and sounds
- Family; community; traditions
Our first shop
We moved from selling fair trade goods out of a tent at local markets, fairs, and festivals into our first storefront on Bank Street in New London, CT.
Encouraged by the community's response to fair trade and support for our shop, we relocated to a much larger premises down the way into our current location at 86 Bank Street.
Our mission
We are committed to creating a sustainable retail business guided by the principles of Fair Trade, where every transaction embodies fairness, respect, and openness. We promote Trade Justice by sourcing products that meet rigorous ethical standards, ensuring justice for all in our supply chain. Beyond commerce, we aspire to bridging cultures and histories through our boutique, celebrating diversity with a vibrant tapestry of art and crafts.
Our shop has become a hub of cultural appreciation, where people come together, forging connections that transcend borders. We extend our commitment to community involvement and social responsibility, organizing events, supporting local initiatives, and inspiring positive change through workshops and awareness campaigns.
